Stop blowing trumpet on increase about tourist influx in Kashmir, do it in Jammu: Tony to Admin
4/14/2022 11:12:36 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 14: Reacting on the recent statement of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha that Kashmir valley has witnessed record breaking increase in tourist influx in last few months, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and DDC member from Suchetgarh constituency Taranjit Singh Tony said that LG should stop blowing his own trumpet, if he wants to take credit of this achievement then he should divert all tourists in Jammu also.
Tony, who recently joined Aam Aadmi Party, had remained very critical of the LG admin’s functioning for its anti people decision especially for Jammu region.
While talking to Early Times, Tony said that the increase in tourist influx in Kashmir valley this year is not a new thing as even in the worst time Kashmir has witnessed an increase in tourists flow. “It is not new that tourists have turned up in large numbers as every year tourists are coming to Kashmir but LG should also speak out about the number of tourists who visited in Jammu,” he said. Further adding that LG Administration has done for enhancing tourists as it is a natural phenomena that tourists love to visit the valley.
He alleged that Jammu is receiving in connection with tourist attraction due to which people who are associated with tourism business are suffering a lot. The claims of LG that 80 lakh tourists have visited in the last few months don’t matter. The achievement will be considered if tourists turn up in Jammu tourist destinations.
“LG Govt has miserably failed to attract tourists in Jammu’s famous tourist destinations like Mansar, Surinsar, Border tourism, Suchetgarh. These tourist places have been ignored by previous as well as incumbent governments. Jammu has always remained at the receiving end. If LG is so serious about tourism then it should focus on tourism inflow in Jammu,” he said.
