| CISF ASI Patel cremated with full military honours | | | agencies
SATNA (MP), Apr 24: The cremation of CISF Assistant Sub-Inspector Shankar Prasad Patel, who attained martyrdom combatting the scourge of insurgency in Jammu on Friday, was conducted with full military honours on Sunday at the officer's native village Naugawan.
The pyre was lit by son Sanjay. ASI Patel is survived by spouse Lakshmi and two sons - the other being Surendra. Earlier, the final journey witnessed a grief-stricken teeming multitude, including Army personnel. The state dispensation was represented by Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ramkhelawan Patel and the administration by Collector Anurag Verma in addition to SP Dharmvir Singh. Local parliamentarian Ganesh Singh (BJP) was also present.
Late Saturday, the mortal remains were conveyed to Jabalpur divisional headquarters by a special plane. They were then brought by road to Naugawan in Maihar Police Station limits. |
