JPDCL, Jal Shakti Deptt have failed, say Dogra Front activists | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 26: Activists of Dogra Front took to the streets on Tuesday to protest against unscheduled power cuts and water shortage in Jammu region. Talking to reporters protesters said, “Only 30% electricity is being provided to Jammu and out of it 70% is being given to Kashmir. Jammu has given Rs 400 crore extra revenue than Kashmir, don’t we deserve better electricity.” They said, “If the government can install solar power plants in Ladakh why can’t solar power plants be installed in Jammu?” Protesters said, “At present Jammu is facing a 10-hour power cut. There is no electricity in homes, nor is power supplied to the factories. The lackadaisical attitude of the authorities has disrupted life. The bureaucrats who are sitting in palatial houses and AC offices need to come out and see how people are suffering.” “There is no planning, no execution Jammu Power Development Corporation Limited has failed to deliver. Common people are suffering because the JPDCL has failed to provide electricity and the Jal Shakti Department too has failed to provide water. People are suffering in absence of basic amenities,” they added. |
