Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan observes International Plant health day | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 13: To observe the International Day of Plant Health and to promote the traditional Duggar culture, Bharatiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan mounted one week special campaign "Ek Buta Asen Bhi Lana" presented its 111th Friday Series Musical Concert in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art production. The programme was inaugurated by Chief Guest V K Magotra, former Regional Director of Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India. He said that plants are the life of earth and we all are dependent on them. How we breathe and what we eat is all affected by plants. They develop up to 80 percent of food for us and up to 98 percent of oxygen. But human habitation is harming the life of plants. Several diseases and pests kill up to 40 percent of food crops every year. M L Dogra, Chairman-BLSKS explained aims & objectives of the programme which have been assigned to the Sansthan for betterment of society in his key note address highlighted the various aspects of music concert which has been produced in collaboration with the renowned artists of Jammu & Kashmir. |
