Director Horticulture reviews performance of department in Ramban, Udhampur districts | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 13: Director Horticulture Jammu Ram Sevak, today conducted an extensive tour of Ramban & Udhampur districts to review the implementation of Capex as well as Centrally Sponsored Schemes during the financial year 2022-23, besides other developmental activities being carried out in the twin districts. The Director Horticulture chaired the meeting of the officers & officials of district Ramban. At the outset, the Chief Horticulture Officer, Anil Kumar Gorkha briefed the meeting about the developmental activities being undertaken in the district. The Director impressed upon the officers & officials to hold awareness camps and Kissan Gosthies in the remote areas of the district to encourage the farmers to take benefit of the departmental schemes. He further asked the department to collect 200 soil samples in each horticulture zone and accordingly generate soil health cards. The department was also asked to immediately release the transport subsidy under CAPEX in favour of the farmers who carry their produce from remote areas to the mandies for sale. Further, he asked them to acquaint the farmers about the utility of the "Horticulture App" and process incentives under different schemes through the app itself. Later, he visited the ACHD farm and Batote nursery and took stock of ongoing developmental activities. He gave on spot instructions to the nursery staff regarding the production of quality grafted planting material, establishment of the mother block of KIWI variety and procurement of the machinery required for the development of the nursery. Taking review of the performance of the department in Udhampur district, the Chief Horticulture Officer Rajinder Kumar appraised the chair about the status of different ongoing works and implementation of different departmental Schemes. |
