AHD holds training session for vets ahead of Brucella vaccination | | | Early Times Report KISHTWAR, May 25: Animal Husbandry department hosted a training session for the staff here ahead of Brucella vaccination being launched under NADCP programme. Dr. Mohammad Anas, Clinical pathologist Kishtwar supervised the session held on the directions of Chief Animal Husbandry officer, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sen. The Training was attended by Dr. Usman (VAS), Dr. Mukesh (VAS) Dr. Owais Bashir (VAS) and other officials of the Department of Animal Husbandry. The Brucellosis vaccination has been introduced by Govt. of India for the very first time in UT of Jammu & Kashmir, in which female calves under the age of 4 to 8 months are to be vaccinated (prophylactic) which will grant a lifelong immunity against the disease. The aim of the training was to educate and make the officials and general Public aware of the said disease and the various precautions and SOPs to be followed during vaccination drive, as the disease is of Zoonotic importance. During the training, emphasis was laid on the Disease, transfer and the nature of infection. Special focus was given on the SOPs to be followed during vaccination and proper disposal of the used material afterwards. |
