BJP failed to bring peace: Mehbooba
5/26/2022 12:02:27 AM

Early Times Report

Srinagar, May 25: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said the Modi government has failed to bring peace in Jammu and Kashmir after abrogating Article 370 of the Constitution.
The tall claims of the BJP government of bringing peace and prosperity after the abrogation of Article 370 has turned to be a hoax as the people are getting killed and arrested daily one way or the other, the former Chief Minister told a party rally in Anantnag.
"If they (security forces) claim there are 150-200 militants in the Valley, why are people being killed daily in Kashmir in spite of 10 lakh security forces in Jammu and Kashmir.
They claimed that after abrogating article 370 everything will be normal here. Then why are people getting killed." she asked.
Mehbooba Mufti said that unless the Centre changed its policies, the situation will never be normal in Jammu and Kashmir.
She warned that the muscular policies of the government of India will further deteriorate the situation and will have serious repercussions.
The PDP leader said a reign of terror has been launched against Muslims in the country by bulldozing their properties and mosques.
She said the authorities have filled jails with Kashmiris and even shifted them to other states. These are the poor people whose parents are not able to meet their kin to meet them, she said.
Don't make Jammu and Kashmir a laboratory for experiments, Mehbooba said. "Jammu and Kashmir is a Muslim-majority state. You will not succeed in eradicating the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir.
