Early Times Report

Jammu, May 25: In an effort provide all possible support to Pandits working in Kashmir and also to make them feel even secure and comfortable, the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has started sending special teams to the Valley for consolation and on the ground assessment of the situation.
Sources said taking a serious note of the problems being pitched by the Kashmir Pandits, who had taken to streets after the killing of Rahul Bhat earlier this month, the Modi government has been even more concerned about the community putting up in Kashmir.
Sources said the first such team recently visited Kashmir for an on the ground assessment of the situation through interactions with the Pandit victims.
The delegation straight rushed to the Sheikh Pora migrant colony in Budgam where they not only interacted with the victims but also participated in a prayer meeting. Subsequently other meetings were also held.
Sources said a prominent Kashmiri Pandit working in the financial capital was part of the first team and was keen to see that the fellow Pandits don’t face any inconvenience in future.
“They(team) spend the day expressing solidarity and taking inputs on all what needs to be done for safety and security,” said source privy to the meeting held at the Budgam camp.
Sources said such delegations will report to the central government with the “assessment report and remedial measures whatever needed for the safety and security” of the Pandits. Hundreds of Kashmir Pandits working in government offices in the valley have been complaining of insecurity, more so since the killing of Rahul Bhat, who was shot dead inside his office in Budgam on May 12.
Since August 15, 2019 as many has 14 Kashmir Pandits have been killed in target killings. Such innocent killings have evoked public outcry against the Pakistan sponsored terror.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police claim to have shot dead the terrorists involved in the killing of Rahul Bhat.
