| World Environment Day celebrated at Govt Degree College Batote | | |

JAMMU, June 5: Under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav GDC Batote celebrated World Environment Day on 04th of June, 2022 by organizing various activities. A poster making competition on the theme "Only One Earth" was held in the Conference Hall of the college from 11 a. m to 11:30 a. m. An essay writing competition was also organised on the mentioned theme. A good number of students participated in the events with enthusiasm. Muskaan Jahan of Semester VI was unanimously adjudged the topper of the poster making contest, while Shobhia Malik and Reena Devi of semester VI secured second and third position respectively. In the essay writing competition Sana Sharief of Semester VI was unanimously declared the topper of the contest. A special extension lecture was delivered by Prof. Ashaq Hussain Parray on the same theme. Dr. Om Raj Katoch also gave a special talk on the dire need of afforestation to save soil erosion especially in hilly areas of District Ramban. Prof. Sunil Kumar presented vote of thanks. The programme was presided over by the worthy principal of the College, Prof. Rajesh Kumar Gupta. |
