POONCH, July 18: The recent monsoon rains have destroyed lands, crops and shelters of various citizens in this border district. Sources said the recent heavy monsoon rains have hit the crops and lands of many farmers and residential shelters of many locals in Poonch district which have distressed the masses. The locals from areas of Surankote, Mandi and surrounding areas have informed Early Times that heavy landslides occurred in Poonch have made the land and citizens into uncultivated form whereas some other residential shelters have also been damaged of these monsoon rains and flood like situations. Wali Mohammad Sheikh from Loran informed that there is huge loss of public property in Loran, many poor people have lost their cultivated lands and some have become shelter less. Yar Mohammad from Mangnar has said that this year's monsoon has distressed citizens in Poonch. Noor Din, a local farmer from Surankote has informed that there is huge loss of public property in form of cultivated lands, shelter in various remote villages of Surankote. Javid Reshi, chairman Insaaf Movement has said that, many people from Shahpur, Gulpur, Salotri, Khaneter, Salonia and other areas have informed him that there is huge loss of property in their areas. He has appealed Lieutenant Governor to direct district administration especially revenue department to investigate the matter and provide compensation to all whose property has been lost. |
