Police book contractor, company for floating labour laws | 3 labourers injured after wall collapse | | asif iqbal naik Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, Aug 9: In a tragic incident, three labourers were critically injured after the Breast Wall of under construction road stretch on National Highway 244 collapsed due to alleged use of substandard material in construction work. As per the details available with Early Times, an information was received by SHO Police Station Chatroo Inspector Sameer Ahmed Butt that Road Construction company SGIH Pvt limited has given construction work of road at NHW 244 on sublet to some contractors. During work the breast wall of the road collapsed and three labourers namely Irshad Ahmed (20yrs) son of Ghulam Hussain, Ghulama son of Baksha both Residents of Marh Chatroo & Ishaq Ahmed son of Ghulam Hussain R/o Naidgam got injured who were later rescued by Police and civilian and were admitted at CHC chatroo and later referred to DH Kishtwar where they are being treated for critical injuries. Talking to Early Times, senior police officials inform that it was found that the construction company and the contractors were doing this work without proper safety measures and safety kits like helmets etc had not been provided to the labourers at work there by putting their life into danger which resulted the injury to three persons. In this regard case FIR No 67/22 US 336/337 IPC has been registered at PS Chatroo, however no arrest has been made so far. |
