| Shiv Sena accuses center of flouting promise of ‘Naya Jammu and Kashmir’ | | |

JAMMU, Aug 9: Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the center of making hollow promises and resorting to blatant lies, Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit has said that the BJP government has betrayed the people of in the name of new Jammu and Kashmir (Naya Jammu and Kashmir) since August 5, 2019, when it abrogated Articles 370 and 35A. The party has asserted that Ranjan Prakash Desai report of which the former judges and bureaucrats were a part has confirmed the same. Shiv Sainiks led by Shiv Sena UT Chief Manish Sahni gathered in large numbers near UT central office and staged a strong protest against the government. The party has demanded immediate restoration of statehood and initiating democratic process to pave the way for representative government. Sahni said that the BJP government has resorted to blatant breach of promise that it made to the people of the Jammu and Kashmir. Sahni said with ‘Naya Jammu and Kashmir’ nowhere in sight, the backbone of the people in Jammu and Kashmir has been broken due to high inflation, unemployment, poor health services and infrastructure deficiencies. Moreover the people are not getting the basic necessities including electricity, water, roads and education. |
