Javed Rana demands speeding up works on Eklavya Model School | | | Early Times Report MENDHAR, Apr 8: Javed Ahmed Rana, former Deputy Chairman, J&K Legislative Council and President Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Pir Panjal Zone has expressed serious concern over the slow progress of works on Eklavya Model residential school Behra Mendhar. Addressing media persons here, the senior NC leader stated that today's presser has been convened specially to appeal to the Lt Governor led Union Territory Administration to take serious note of the slow pace of progress on the works of Eklavya Model Residential School, Behra Mendhar and ensure its completion at the earliest. He said that it is quite unfortunate that the works on the projects initiated during National Conference Govt in the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir have either been halted or else works on a few of them are going on at snail's pace. The former Legislator said that NC is highly concerned about the delay in completion of the Eklavya School as it is linked to the future of children of this mountainous area. He said "We had made strenuous efforts at the highest level and it was only due to the National Conference Govt that this school was got approved for Behra Mendhar. Now it gives much pain to notice casual approach of the Administration in getting the prestigious project completed." Javed Rana said that the work of early completion should be taken on a war footing so that the admission and recruitment could be commenced at the earliest. He demanded that the children of the region besides the locals of the area should be provided 50 percent share in admissions and recruitment of teaching and administrative staff of the school. He emphasized that not only admissions to primary classes but also for classes 6th to 12th should be commenced in this year only so that the students of the area get benefitted. |
