| CBI arrests Horticulture Officer in bribery case | | |

Jammu, Apr 8: The sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation on Saturday arrested one Chief Horticulture Officer and a civilian in a bribery case.
A CBI official said that acting on a complaint against the accused and others on the allegations of demanding a bribe of Rs.10 lakh for complainant's posting and to resolve his departmental issues including promotion, a case was registered and investigation was taken up.
He added that a trap was laid and the officer was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.10 lakh along with the middleman.
"During searches, cash and other documents including movable and immovable property were recovered," he added.
The accused will be produced before the competent court, said the CBI official. |
