NEP revolutionizing education | | | The implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) has changed the very concept of education in India as the idea revolves around training the students from a young age so that they become employable and are equipped to face the challenges. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently stated that the NEP is being implemented keeping in mind the requirements of modern and developed India. He also said the policy emphasises the holistic development of children, knowledge, skills, culture, and promotion of Indian values. The government is imparting training to the teachers to effectively implement the NEP and prepare the students in a way that they could resolve the issues they could face once they leave schools as young adults. The education in “New India” is not only confined to classrooms. It has gone beyond it. Very importantly the ambit of providing education has been extended to every section of the society. The government is reaching out to the far flung areas by developing school infrastructure and appointing new teachers. The inclusion of vocational courses aimed at developing the skills of the students is an important step towards building the “New India.” The idea is simple that the schools have to hone the skills of children and help them out to pursue the courses to which they are inclined towards. In coming years schools in India will produce the students who will be well versed with the skills that would lay the foundation of their careers. Instead of running after government jobs, the students are being taught the ways and means to seek self employment. The skill development centers have been opened across the country to provide training to the youth under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana. In this year’s budget, 30 Skill India International Centers will be opened where youth will be trained through New Age Technology. India is changing and is changing fast. Studies are not confined to books only. It has gone beyond it. The generation-next of India is being taught to become self-reliant from day one. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to see India on top is being implemented in letter and spirit. The NEP is laying the foundation of it and in coming years results will be evident. |
