Udhampur, Apr 26: Owing to some technical snag the CT Scan Machine in Govt Medical College (GMC) Udhampur is non-functional for the last about four months leaving the patients to move into private clinics for diagnosis and pay hefty amount while those who are poor patients have been left at the mercy of God. This is the state of affairs when the Health Department again and again makes tall claims on advance facilities at the medical institution but the very basic requirement the CT Scan Machine at the GMC hospital is not working,” said a social activist. A local said, how come the private CT Scan machines run continuously without developing technical snag and how are they maintained properly while in government institutions none cares as the property belongs to the government. He demanded that the machine at GMC Udhampur should be repaired soon or instal new machine so that the patients may get some relief. When contact medical Supridendent of GMC Udhampur for this issue he said machine will be repaired soon. However sources informed that CT SCAN machine used in GMC Udhampur of very old variant and single slices even other hospital used so advance CT SCAN machine and parts of this machine not possible to get soon due to it being an old model. |
