Pot calling kettle black NC, PC start fresh fight over ‘dynastic rule’ | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 11: In what they themselves called pot calling kettle black situation, the National Conference and the Peoples Conference have started a fresh war of words this time over who among the two is a “dynastic party.” The war of words erupted after the Peoples Conference led by Sajad Lone announced its new list of spokespersons with the son of a former minister getting first place in the list. Peoples Conference which is led by Sajad, who is son of former politician Abdul Gani Lone, has long been saying that the NC was a party of dynasts. This time as the PC led by the “second generation dynast” made son of a former minister as its spokesperson, the NC found it time to hit the opponent. The NC spokesperson shared the list of new spokespersons of the PC saying “Dynastic rule anyone?” The official handle of the PC reacted saying “Pot calling the kettle black!” The people reacted saying that the PC wanted to convey that it was the pot. The NC again reacted sharply to the jibe saying: “Actually it is a matter of taking a principled stand. If it is okay for your Party to accommodate 2nd generation politicians, it should be okay for everyone else to do the same. As simple as that.” For the last few months the war of words between the NC and PC has only intensified since the day Sajad Lone accused the Abdullahs of lobbying hard with the Bharatiya Janta Party to form future government in Jammu and Kashmir. Sajad had also claimed that the NC was trying to stay away from Congress since the Abdullahs were allegedly busy improving relations with the BJP. The issue had snowballed into major controversy in the political circles with NC posting pictures of Sajad Lone with senior BJP leaders. “Interestingly that time also it was a sort of pot calling kettle black situation,” said a political observer. |
