JAMMU, June 29: The Core Committee of All Party Migrant Camps Action Committee recently held an emergency meeting to discuss the issue of electricity bills being charged to migrants residing in all camps of Jammu District. The committee was apprised of a recent meeting held by the District Administration, Relief Organisation, and Power Development Corporation Authorities. It was decided that the committee would wait for a concrete permanent solution and communicate with the government through the District Administration. Until then, the committee resolved to wait and monitor the outcome of the meeting, with an assurance from the administration that power supply to the camps would not be disturbed. The committee cautioned residents to remain vigilant against agencies attempting to create confusion and clarified that only the All Party Action Committee Migrant Camps was fighting for the revocation of the electricity bill orders. The committee also requested the government to revoke the orders promptly, as discussed in the meeting with the District Administration in Jammu. |
