Heroes, Unity Revered in Nimoo (Leh) during MMMD Commemoration | | | Early Times Report NIMOO (LEH), Aug 22: Nimoo village in Leh district witnessed a poignant gathering as it hosted a remarkable "Meri Maati Mera Desh" event. Dignitaries, officials, and local residents came together to pay homage to martyrs and strengthen the sense of unity and camaraderie within the community. Following a prominent event in the Union Territory chaired by LG Brig Dr B.D. Mishra (Retd) a few days earlier, this occasion was spearheaded by Amit Sharma, IAS, Commissioner Secretary of the Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department. Sharma's presence underlined the event's importance, symbolizing the Government's commitment to honoring the selfless service of national heroes. The event featured notable figures, including Additional District Development Commissioner of Leh Sonam Nurboo, Lieutenant Colonel Rajput Battalion Nimoo Ashish Choubey, along with Jawans, Chairperson of Nimoo's BDC Tashi, DPO Leh Junaid Amin, and Rural Development Department officials. The attendance of school children and staff from Government High School Nimoo added youthful reverence to the proceedings. A touching moment unfolded as Shri Amit Sharma paid tribute to the martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. Their unwavering dedication and bravery were solemnly remembered. A heartwarming gesture ensued as families of the martyrs were felicitated and tokens of appreciation were presented by Secretary RDD Amit Sharma.
