UDHAMPUR, Jan 22: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), in collaboration with One Stop Centre (OSC) Udhampur, organised a pledge ceremony and a special gram sabha at the conference hall of DPO Poshan Udhampur today.
The pledge ceremony aimed to emphasise the education of the girl child and to ensure that girls are born, loved and nurtured to become equal and empowered citizens of the country. Further, the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme was organised in different panchayats of District Udhampur, namely Kashirah, Upper Kawa, Sundrani and Muttal, where Mamta Kits were distributed to the newborn babies and the locals were made aware of the various women-centric schemes implemented by the government.
