Jammu, Jan 22: The rail and air traffic remained hit on Monday in fog gripped Jammu while there is no respite from cold weather conditions in the winter capital. The Jammu on Sunday recorded a maximum temperature of 7.8 degrees, which is lowest this season. The Banihal tehsil of Ramban recorded maximum 16.2 degrees, Batote 15.4 degrees, Katra 15.5 degrees, Bhaderwah 15.2 degrees, Kathua 9.4 degrees and Mirpur 14.5 degrees Celsius. A MeT section official said that dry weather likely to continue till Jan 24 and on January 25-26, weather will be generally cloudy with light snow at isolated higher reaches, on January 27-28, it will be generally cloudy with light rain and snow over scattered places, on January 29-31, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain, snow at many places very likely and on February 1, there is possibility of light rain and snow at scattered places. “Moderate to dense fog and fall in day temperature over plains of Jammu Division during next two days,” he said. Meanwhile the rail and air operations remained hit due to fog as the arrival and departure of the trains and flights was delayed by a few hours from their scheduled timings. The Directorate of School Education, Jammu also extended the winter vacations in all the private and government schools of summer zone till January 27. |
