District Police Jammu attached property worth 50 lakhs belonging to notorious Drug Peddler in Akhnoor

Jammu, Mar 6: Continuing with the crackdown on properties of drug dealers in District Jammu, District Police Jammu under the Supervision of SSP Jammu Dr. Vinod Kumar-IPS,orchestrated a meticulously planned operation resulting in the freezing/ seizure of property (residential house) of approximately ₹ 50 lakhs at Rah Salyote Tehsil Chowki-Choura District Jammu .This property belonged to the notorious drug dealer Rohit Dutta s/o Hoshiar Chand r/o Rah Salyote .
District police jammu executed this operation under sections 68-E read with 68-F of the NDPS Act of 1985, dealing with provisions against accused involved in drug peddling. The mandate has been provided for accused detained under PITNDPS ACT also.
The drug peddler Rohit Duta S/o Hoshiar Chand R/o Rah Salyote is presently detained under PITNDPS Act by the Akhnoor Police in a warrant issued by Divisional Commissioner Jammu and is lodged in District Jail Kathua.
There are many cases against the said accused including several serious cases of Drug Peddling.
The property, identified as proceeds of narcotic gains/acquired through illicit drug trafficking, was uncovered during thorough investigation and inquiry conducted by Police team of Akhnoor Subdivision with the help of revenue authorities.
This operation serves as a stern reminder of the unwavering commitment of the District police Jammu to eradicate the drug menace from Jammu District.
The local populace also lauded this proactive initiative, recognizing it as a pivotal step towards ensuring a safer and drug-free environment for all.
As part of the campaign, a strong message has been sent to curb the activities of drug peddlers by attaching the property of a notorious drug peddler.The property attachment operation was conducted by the team headed SDPO Akhnoor, Mohan sharma-JKPS,SHO Akhnoor Inspector Tariq Ahmed , Naib-Tehsildar Rah Salyote Ashfaq Ahmed under supervision of SP Rural Brijesh Sharma in presence of prominent citizens of the area.
