JAMMU, Mar 6: In a bid to foster civic responsibility and awareness among students, GDC Vijaypur, in collaboration with the Department of English and its NSS Unit (KHIDMAT), organized a thought-provoking documentary screening on the 'Importance of Voting in a Democracy'. The event, held under the banner of Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye, attracted enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members.
The documentary served as a source of great inspiration, shedding light on the pivotal role of voting rights and responsibilities in shaping the democratic fabric of our nation. Delving into the mechanics of India's mammoth electoral process, it underscored the power of each individual's vote in steering the course of the country's future.
Dr. (Prof.) Vandana Gupta, the esteemed Principal of GDC Vijaypur, provided invaluable guidance throughout the event, elucidating the fundamental rights and duties enshrined in the Indian Constitution. Emphasizing the significance of voting as a crucial civic duty, Dr. Gupta urged students to recognize the profound impact their participation in elections can have on the nation's trajectory.
