Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 6: Shri Bawa Bhair Devsthan Trust marked a significant milestone today as it unveiled the much-anticipated annual calendar for the year 2024. The auspicious event took place at Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, Chanakya Chowk, Parade Jammu, and was graced by the esteemed presence of senior BJP leader and chief of Tawi Andolan, Chander Mohan Sharma, who officiated the release ceremony. In the presence of distinguished dignitaries including Ved Parkash Sharma, President of Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, Subash Shastri, President of NMC, B.S. Jamwal, Ex. DC, and Gurdas Sharma, General Secretary of Jammu Yatri Bhawan, the unveiling ceremony was presided over by P.C. Sharma, advocate and senior member of DBPS. The event commenced with the solemn chanting of Mantras and Shlokas, setting a reverential tone for the proceedings. Attended by representatives, prominent citizens, and pilgrims from various parts of Jammu city, particularly from villages Aitham, Soura, Kattal Battal, and Bhair, the occasion witnessed a gathering of trustees and associated members of the Baba Bhair Devsthan Trust. Key speakers shed light on the rich history of Baba Bhair Dev, the revered Kul Devta of many Bradaries, emphasizing the need for the J&K Government to elevate the shrine's status within the state's tourism circuit. Additionally, they advocated for improved facilities such as drinking water, power, medical aid centers, and enhanced road connectivity under the PMGSY Scheme to accommodate the thousands of pilgrims from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi who visit the shrine annually. Members of the trust, including Balwant Singh (Chairman), Ramesh Sharma (General Secretary), Ritiz Khajuria, Rajesh Bargotra, Raman Sharma, Shiv Ram Sharma, Jagan Nath Sharma, Om Parkash Sharma, Ex-Sarpanch Kirpal Singh, Girdhari Lal, Dina Nath, Ex-Panch Pritam Singh, Rohit Sharma, Abhinash Sharma, Subash Sharma, Davinder Sharma (Baboo), Mohinder Sharma, and Kishor Kumar Sharma (Ex-Sarpanch Nagrota), reiterated their commitment to pursuing the enhancement of facilities for pilgrims, having already initiated discussions with the Tourism Department and PWD. |
