| Drug smuggler booked | | |  Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 27: Police on Monday booked a most wanted drug smuggler under Narco Act in Kulgam district.
The most wanted and notorious drug smuggler identified as Abdul Rashid Rather alias Mathur a resident of Bonigam-Qazigund has been booked under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
The accused drug smuggler has been detained and subsequently lodged in Kot-Balwal central jail in Jammu.
"It is pertinent to mention here that many cases are registered against him and he was involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth & other areas of the district", Police said and added "despite his involvement in many FIRs of Police Station Qazigund he did not mend his activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth". |
