10/23/2024 11:21:05 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 23: Senior BJP leader and MLA Nagrota Mr Devender Singh Rana today called for a united fight against the scourge of terrorism in all its manifestations, saying there is no place for terror violence in the civilized world.
Rana, who along with BJP MLAs Shagun Parihar, Arvind Gupta and Surinder Kumar Bhagat visited the residence of Martyr Shashi Bhushan Abrol, assassinated along with six others during the barbaric and inhuman terror attack in Gagangir area of Ganderbal, to offer condolences personally, said the sacrifice of the Martyr and the other workers will be remembered with gratitude, as they laid down their lives while putting in their best in reconstruction and development of Jammu and Kashmir that has witnessed a long spell of turmoil at the hands of enemies of humanity and peace.
"Their sacrifices will not go waste and the lunatic and barbaric killers as also their perpetrators will have to pay the price of their inhuman act", he said while interacting with mourners.
Devender Rana said the political parties across the spectrum, civil society in general and the people of Jammu and Kashmir in particular should stand in unison against such heinous and radicalized crimes that are leaving humanity bleeding.
While talking to the media persons outside the Martyrs residence, Mr Rana exuded confidence that the police and the security forces will not allow terror to again germinate on sustain on the sacred soil of Jammu and Kashmir after having been wiped out with iron fists. The residual terrorists are poised to get annihilated, he said, describing the Gagangir act as a sign of frustration of terrorists on the face of people's preference for peace and normalcy.
Rana said terrorism is on its last leg as the normalcy and peace is fast returning in J&K because of Zero tolerance to terrorism and their ecosystem by the Union Government and the valour of the security forces. The overwhelming participation of the people in the democratic process has unnerved the enemy and they want to disturb the process of peace, normalcy and development by such heinous mechanizations but they must remember that this shall not be tolerated and the perpetrators their sympathizers will be taught an exemplary lesion which will be a deterrent for all these elements, he added.
Rana said the terror war against the Indian Nation and the people of Jammu and Kashmir is destined to fail as the history stands testimony to the fact that terrorism cannot achieve anything by unleashing violence on innocent people. He hoped that the people would stand guard against terror and its ecosystem and maintain unity to foil all the machinations of the enemies of peace and harmony. He also hoped that all will rise above party politics and ideologies to denounce the scourge of terror that has unleashed mayhem during the past over three decades and spilled blood of innocents.
He said the family must not feel alone at this moment of their grief as the government is committed to stand behind them.
The BJP MLAs Devender Rana, Shagun Parihar, Arvind Gupta and Surinder Kumar Bhagat said they were shocked on hearing about the gruesome act of terror . They said there were no words to describe the pain and agony of the family of Martyr Shashi Bhushan Abrol.
They consoled the bereaved members of the family including father, mother, wife and children saying words fail to explain the grief and anguish over this gruesome terror act. They also prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to his family to bear the irreparable loss.
