Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 24: Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta today reiterated the Union Government's unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism in the Union Territory. In a statement issued to media persons, the BJP stalwart leader asserted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is resolute in ensuring that Jammu and Kashmir becomes a peaceful and terrorism-free region, fostering an environment where development and prosperity can thrive. "The Modi government is committed to bringing lasting peace and stability. It will continue to work tirelessly to achieve this goal," the senior BJP leader stated. He appealed to regional political parties in Jammu and Kashmir to play a constructive role in the process of bringing peace to the region. "They must contribute positively towards making J&K a peaceful and progressive place. The time has come for all political forces to come together while setting aside narrow interests, and work for the betterment of the people of J&K", he said. Without naming any political party, the BJP stalwart subtly questioned the role some so-called Kashmir-centric political parties have played in the past. "There have been forces in the past, claiming to be Kashmir-centric, who have often swayed the people against the state, fostering division and strife. This divisive narrative has only hindered the progress and peace that the people of J&K deserve," Gupta said, adding that the Modi government will not allow such efforts to succeed. "Under Modi Government, long-lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir is inevitable, and any attempt to derail this process will be firmly resisted. The people of J&K will no longer be misled by forces working against their best interests. The Modi government is committed to ensuring that J&K's future is one of harmony, security, and development," Kavinder maintained. |
