Late Geelani’s close aide criticizes Hurriyat ideology

Srinagar, Mar 24: Advocate Mohammad Shafi Reshi, once a close aide of late separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani, has publicly distanced himself from separatist politics, reaffirming his allegiance to the country and the supremacy of the Indian Constitution.
In a formal statement to a Srinagar based news agency, Reshi announced his complete disassociation from the Jammu & Kashmir Democratic Political Movement (DPM) and the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (G).
He clarified that he had severed ties with the DPM in 2017 while serving as its chairman and has had no affiliation with any separati

Reshi strongly criticized the ideology of the Hurriyat Conference, asserting that it had failed to address the genuine aspirations and grievances of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. Emphasizing his commitment to his legal profession, he stated that his focus is now entirely on his professional responsibilities.
Reshi cautioned against the unauthorized use of his name in connection with separatist organizations, stating that any such act would invite legal action. He reiterated his identity as a bona fide Indian citizen, firmly committed to upholding the country's constitutional principles.
