Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 6: The sacred festival of Navratras, dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga, was celebrated with immense devotion and spiritual fervor at Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Continuing its tradition, the Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Management Trust organized a series of religious events that drew large participation from Sanatan devotees.
The celebrations began with Beeja Ropan on the first Navratra, followed by a Ram Katha in Dogri by Pt. Satpal Raina Ji, and a Ladies Satsang where devotional Durga Bhajans were recited. A major highlight this year was the Maha Arti of Mata Vaishno Devi Ji, conducted in the Hari Dwar style, which saw hundreds of devotees, trustees, special invitees, and learned Pandits take part in a deeply spiritual experience.
The temple complex was beautifully illuminated, adding to the divine atmosphere and receiving praise from devotees for the excellent arrangements.
On Ashtami, the festivities saw the presence of Shri Vikram Randhawa, Hon'ble MLA, along with other dignitaries. Upholding tradition, a special Hawan Yagya was also organized on the final day, attracting a large number of devotees and culminating with Kanjak Pujan.
Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and President of the Trust, along with S.C. Rekhi, General Secretary, and other members, extended heartfelt thanks to all the participants for making the Navratra celebrations a grand success.
