Early Times Report JAMMU, June 3: The GNN Jammu Hockey League (U-19) 2026 commenced on an exciting note with Bandhu Rakh Hockey Club registering a convincing 5-0 victory over MBS Hockey Club Simnal in the opening league match played at Jammu. Bandhu Rakh Hockey Club dominated the proceedings from the start, displaying excellent teamwork, disciplined defense, and attacking flair to secure a comprehensive win. The young players showcased impressive skills and sportsmanship, reflecting the growing standard of hockey in the Union Territory. The opening ceremony and match were graced by Sh. Rajeev Sharma, Member, J&K Sports Council, as the Chief Guest. The Guest of Honour for the occasion was S. Manjeet Singh, President, Sikh For All. Among the distinguished dignitaries present were Rajinder Singh Sudan, S. Balwinder Singh (Member, DGPC), Swarn Singh (JKAS), S. Ranbir Singh (Member, DGPC), S. Jagpal Singh (Member, DGPC), Dr. Taran Singh (General Secretary, Hockey J&K), Tejinder Singh (Secretary, Hockey J&K), and Jaswinder Kour (Vice President, Hockey J&K). The dignitaries appreciated the efforts of the organizers in promoting hockey among youth and encouraged the participating players to continue striving for excellence both on and off the field. The league will continue on 4th June 2026 with two exciting matches scheduled at 4:30 PM and 6:00 PM, promising more competitive hockey action for spectators and enthusiasts. The GNN Jammu Hockey League (U-19) 2026 is being organized to provide a competitive platform for young hockey players and to strengthen the development of grassroots hockey in Jammu & Kashmir. |
