Early Times Report RAJOURI, June 3: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri, has organized a creative festival aimed at encouraging student expression, social awareness, and community engagement through art and literature. The event has brought together students and research scholars from across the university, providing a vibrant platform for participants to showcase their talents and perspectives on contemporary social issues. The festival is being jointly organized by the Department of Political Science & International Relations, Department of Sociology, Department of History and Nodal Officer, Development Projects. As part of the event, students are invited to demonstrate their creativity through a range of competitions, including Poem Writing, Short Story Writing, Poster Making, Painting and Drawing. The initiative seeks to promote constructive dialogue, critical thinking and creative engagement among young people while encouraging them to contribute positively to society through artistic and literary expression. The festival is being conducted under the broader framework of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan. In his message, Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, Vice Chancellor, BGSBU, highlighted the importance of providing students with opportunities that nurture creativity and social responsibility. He stated that universities play a crucial role in shaping informed, aware, and responsible citizens, and such platforms enable students to express their ideas while developing a deeper understanding of societal challenges. Registrar, BGSBU, Shri Ravi Kumar Sihag (IAS) emphasized the role of educational institutions in fostering meaningful community engagement. He appreciated the collaborative efforts of the organizing departments and noted that creative activities offer students an effective medium to communicate their thoughts, inspire positive change, and contribute to social development. The festival will continue over the coming days with various competitions and interactive activities. Outstanding entries will be recognized, and selected creative works will be showcased as part of the university's outreach and awareness initiatives. |
