 Early Times Report BUDGAM, June 3: Senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Nominated Er. Gulam Ali Khatana, participated in a drug awareness programme organized by Spring Buds Educational Institute, Ompora, Budgam, under the banner of the Nashe Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. Addressing a large gathering of students, teachers, and staff members, Er. Khatana emphasized the urgent need to eradicate the menace of drug abuse from society and highlighted the crucial role of youth in building a healthy and prosperous nation. He appreciated the younger generation for coming forward in large numbers to support the campaign against substance abuse and described the active participation of students and youth as a positive sign for society. Er. Khatana also lauded the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Campaign initiated under the leadership of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir and appreciated the collective efforts of educational institutions, parents, civil society organizations, government agencies, and the general public in making the campaign successful. "The youth are the greatest asset of our nation. They must remain focused on education, skill development, and nation-building activities while staying away from the dangers of drug addiction," he said. The MP encouraged students to become ambassadors of the Nashe Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and spread awareness among their families, friends, and communities about the harmful effects of substance abuse. Er. Khatana commended Spring Buds Educational Institute for organizing the awareness programme and creating a platform to educate young minds about the social and health consequences of drug addiction. He noted that educational institutions play a vital role in shaping responsible citizens and promoting social awareness. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of students, faculty members, and staff. Among those present were Chairman Mohammad Shafi Quraishi, Principal Shahnawaz Shafi, Administrator Ajaz Ahmad, and Heads of Departments Shafeeq Ahmad, Maya Razida, Aliya Yaqoob, and Kounsar Nissar, who also addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of awareness, education, and community participation in preventing substance abuse.
