Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 6: Although the name of the constituency is Udhampur-Doda, it is the Kathua district that will decide the fate of the two main contestants namely Dr. Jitendra Singh of BJP and Choudhary Lal Singh of Congress. Union Minister and BJP candidate Dr. Jitendra Singh has won two successive elections on this seat due to overwhelming support from Kathua district comprising of six assembly segments. Actually, in this parliamentary constituency, a total of 16.23 lakh voters of 18 assembly constituencies of five districts are going to play an important role in deciding the victory or defeat. But out of the five districts, Kathua district has the highest number of voters. Kathua district, which has 6 assembly constituencies, has more than 5 lakh 3 thousand 227 voters than the entire parliamentary constituency. Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Apr 6: The infiltration bid that was foiled on Friday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla indicated desperation on part of Pakistan to fuel unrest in Kashmir Valley ahead of general elections, Army said. Two terrorists were killed close to the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of Baramulla district when they were trying to sneak into Kashmir. Army said intermittent fire was also drawn from Pakistan forward posts, in the vicinity of LoC during the counter infiltration operation. Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 6: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday attached movable properties in the form of bank balances to the tune of Rs one crore related to some of the accused, including mastermind Yatin Yadav, in the 2022 police sub-inspector scam in Jammu and Kashmir, the agency said. The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) conducted the examination in March 2022 but the selected list of 1,200 candidates was cancelled by the administration in July following allegations of paper leak and malpractice. Early Times Report Rajouri/Jammu, Apr 6: Army troops opened fire and subsequently launched a search operation after noticing suspicious movement near their camp in a village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district early Saturday, officials said. There was no report of any casualty in the firing at the Srotha Morha village in the Darhal area, the officials said.
