Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 16: After terror attack in Poonch on August 13, the so-called nationalist and valiant BJP leaders have shifted the venue of starting Tiranga Yatra from Poonch to "safer" Trikuta Nagar. With much publicity the BJP had announced on August 11 that its brave Lok Sabha member Jugal Kishore Sharma along with other "Desh Bhakat" leaders of the party will start Tiranga Yatra from Poonch, which will cover the entire Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency but the Desh Bhakat BJP succumbed to terrorists and shifted the venue from a border town to safer Trikuta Nagar.
On August 11, BJP had announced that Union ministers Jitendra Singh and Kiren Rijiju will lead the BJP's "Tiranga Yatra" in Jammu and Kashmir. The Yatra is being organised by the BJP between August 15-22 as a symbol of social harmony and unity.
Union MoS PMO and sitting MP Dr Jitendra Singh will lead the yatra in Jammu region while Union MoS Home Kiran Rijiju in Ladakh region, J&K State General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Kaul had stated.
It was announced that MP Jugal Kishore Sharma will accompany Singh in the yatras in Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency and both will cover the entire Jammu province, he said. It was announced with publicity that Jugal Kishore Sharma will start Yatra from Poonch on August 15.
But on August 13, terrorists lobbed grenade near Deshnami Akhara of Poonch during Shri Buddha Amarnath Yatra. People were expecting that despite terrorist attack, the brave BJP leaders would continue their programme of Yatra from Poonch.
But the time came, the patriotic BJP leaders succumbed to terror threats and changed the venue.
According to official handout issued by the party, "BJP to celebrate the 70th Independence Day, Lok Sabha MP Jugal Kishore Sharma took out "Tiranga Yatra" on motorcycle and scooters. It started from Trikuta Nagar office of the party. Kavinder Gupta, Speaker and MLA (Gandhi Nagar) also joined the rally. The rally covered four assembly constituencies on Day first while passing through Bahu Fort, Bahu Plaza, Shivaji Chowk, Nai Basti, Satwari, Vijaypur, Baguna, Raya Suchani, Patti, Mandiyan, Samba town and halted for night stay at Samba. The MP also paid his tributes to the freedom fighters at number of places while leading this yatra".
