SR holds workshops for GS, Optional

JAMMU, Aug 16: As a part of ongoing series of workshops for the KAS-2016 examination, the SR College of Competitions (SRCC) has organized free workshops for General Studies (GS) and the Optional subject of Public Administration.
The workshops witnessed a good response and active participation of the KAS aspirants coming from various parts of the State. The faculty for the workshops included Praveen Sharma and Goutam Pandey (Delhi).
In addition to the comprehensive orientation on the syllabus and the scheme of the examination, the highly adept faculty members highlighted on the importance of serving in administrative services and how the services like KAS would provide both professional and personal satisfaction as they provide an opportunity to serve the poor and the needy in the society directly.
While motivating the students, the faculty also emphasized that the entry into such services requires dedicated, consistent and focused efforts on the part of students and meticulous guidance on the part of the institution at every stage of the three part examination.
The faculty also stressed on the importance of selecting right Optionals and assessing one's level of preparedness by attempting very similar mock tests from time to time. Keeping in consideration the limited time available for the Preliminary examination, the faculty also cautioned the aspirants to make effective utilization of the time available. Further they gave some necessary tips on effective time management.
They also emphasised that the number of vacancies available this time are high and the students who are planning to give the examination, but started their preparation only after seeing the notification need to adopt a smart and guided method of preparation to be successful in the Examination.
"The institution is already running multiple batches to accommodate the surging number of candidates and all geared up to start additional batches to provide intensive coaching to the aspirants that started their preparation just now," said Director of the College, Parveen Sharma.
