Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 21: A meeting of the controlling heads of various banks operating in Jammu region was held under the chairmanship of Pawan Kotwal, IAS, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu who is also the Chairman of Indian Red Cross Society, Regional Branch.. The agenda of the meeting was to know about the latest developments in the banking sector across Jammu Region, to know their problems, if any, in smooth conduct of their banking business and also solicit their cooperation for contribution under CSR for further strengthening the activities of Indian Red Cross Society to reach the unreached members of public who need immediate care, sufficient assistance in cash/kind. He asked them to come forward and take up one or two activities each in local areas as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Stressing on the need to train citizens in essential first aid, he asked the banks to impart first aid training through Red Cross Society to their employees. He said that banking institutions are present across the region having wide reach and this measure will be a significant step in training every citizen as a ready 'First Aid Force'. The Divisional Commissioner, Jammu accompanied by senior officers and their staff including Vice-Chairman, JDA, Municipal Commissioner, SSP, Jammu, SSP Traffic, Addl.DC,Jammu, SE(PWD), SE(PDD) also visited the Red Cross Bhawan, Jammu and discussed about the necessary face-lifting, developing proper parking etc. and directed all the concerned agencies to complete the task at the earliest. Red Cross was represented by its Honorary Secretary Dinesh Gupta, Committee Members VikramGujral, Surinder Mahajan, Neeraj Anand and Madhvi Sharma besides Suresh Sharma, Executive Secretary and R.
