Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 17: Agitated over Jammu University Vice-Chancellor's controversial remark that terrorist Burhan Wani should not have been killed but captured alive, the National Secular Forum activists today held a strong protest demonstration and demanded removal of Prof R D Sharma from the top position. The protest was led by Surjit Choudhary Sr.Vice-President NSF, who also addressed the protesting students and threatened a forceful agitation if the incumbent VC is not removed from his position. Choudhary informed that as a Vice Chancellor, Prof Sharma has a lot to do to streamline the mess created by him in the administrative and academic functioning of university and improve the sagging academic standard of students. But he has instead preferred to play dirty politics of speaking in favour of deceased Burhan Wani, terrorist while addressing media persons in the campus, thus bringing disrepute to whole faculty of university and dishonouring martyrs sacrificed them to protect J&K state. He told that since VC Sharma is gripped in various controversial actions allowing wrong doings having come in the public domain from time to time, he apparently seems to have gone out of gear to cover up numerous wrongs and growing acts of omission and commission during his tenure. He added that Prof Sharma is trying to divert the attention of public and students fraternity by indulging into controversial issues like killing of militant Burhan Wani ostensibly taking sideline of separatists and their sympathizers which has been pooh pouched by all. Snubbing the arrogance of Vice Chancellor to cross his demarcated lines distorting official decorum and propriety, Surjit said that Chancellor and Pro Chancellor are maintaining studied silence as mute spectators for unknown reasons and avoiding to take cognizance of anti national utterances of Vice Chancellor, Prof Ramji Dass Sharma recently shared in press conference which has been widely condemned as appeared in print media. Among those who were present in the press-conference included, Atul Sharma, Akshay Sharma, Neeraj Bharti, sunny Raina, Atul Sharma, Suraj Kumar, Arun Manhas, Sahil Manhas, Nikhil Sharma, and Others. |
