JMC conducts drive against illegal Rehries

Jammu, Nov 25: Jammu Municipal Corporation conducted drive against illegal Rehries /Pharies and encroachers causing traffic congestion and obstructing free movement of pedestrians on footpaths. The team visited various areas of Jammu City viz Indira Chowk, B.C. Road, Bakshi Nagar, Akhnoor Road, Paloura, Toph Sherkhania, Muthi, Roop Nagar, Janipur and crushed number of illegal rehries/pharies plying without licence.
The team also demolished illegal Khokha at Roop Nagar opp. Police Station and seized two trucks of material placed outside the shops and cleared the footpaths and pavements in these areas.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation appealed to Rehri owners to ply their rehries only after obtaining rehri licence from Jammu Municipal Corporation otherwise action under rules will be initiated against them.
Jammu Municipal Corporation also appealed to the shopkeepers not to display their belongings on the footpaths and cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation in making Jammu a smart city.
