Udhampur, Nov 25: People risked their lives to douse horrible fire which broke out today in the morning in the forest compartment no.34 near Dubbi Gali in Moungri of Udhampur district.
"As the flames started billowing high in sky, forest department was left with no option but to look to locals to help their restricted resources, reports said. They said, "Local residents without caring their lives, joined in the fire fighting operation so as to save the green gold besides local flora and fauna. The higher officials of Forest Department have appreciated the role of people who joined the fire fighting operations to douse the massive fire, reports said. They added that the operation is still going on.
"One person identified as Fazzi son of Saif Din of Bayi Dubbi Gali received injuries while saving his house from being gutted, reports said. |
