Katra, Dec 2: Awakening knowledge of our rich tradition and culture amongst the growing children of different schools, Senior Citizens Welfare Forum (Regd.) Katra organized a Symposium on "Care for Parents/Elderly people" at Government High School Charyai wherein Host school and adjoining educational institutions participated and Surbhi Sharma and Anju Devi of Govt. High School Seen-Brahmna bagged, 1st and 2nd prize of Rs 500 and Rs 400 where Madika Student of Govt. High School Charyai got third position with Rs 300 respectively. Besides consolation prizes of Rs 200 each to all the participants, Citation Certificates and Mementos also honored by the Forum to all the students. A colourfull function with patriotic songs and dance which was presided by Retired Director (Finance) J&K Government shared by President of Senior Citizens Welfare Forum Katra and Guests of Honor were eminent educationist Pandit Chajju Ram Shastri and Virender Badyal Director Horticulture. Chief Guest Krishan Singh praised the efforts of Senior Citizens Forum (Regd.) Katra being done for upliftment of society. President of Senior Citizens Welfare Katra Forum stressed the need of hour amongst the students to respect and care their parents and elders which is being lacking in the society these days. Programme attended by all the members with their families appreciated by the residents of village Charyai, Seen Brahmna, Muttal, Thathi, Samol and Kotli Jijan. Prominent Senior Citizens witnessed the Symposium were Captain Durga Dass (Retired), Krishan Singh (Retired Master), Kuldeep Khajuria (Retired Head Master), Dewan Chand, Jagdish Chander, Onkar Singh, Arvind Mohan, Munshi Ram (Panch Muttal), Kaka Singh (Naib Sarpanch), Badri Nath, Indru Ram, Janader Ji, Punjabu Ram, Rajinder Singh, Yussaf Din, Romesh Kumar (Painter), Subash Chander (Tikri) and Mahatma Sidheshwava Nand Ji. |
