Denial of compensation to Kishtwar riot victims | Several organizations to boycott Republic Day function | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Jammu, Jan 24: Annoyed over the delay in release of compensation in favour of communal riot victims and resentment towards Minister of State for Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, Sanatan Dharam Sabha Kishtwar (SDSK), several organization representing various sects of minority community today announced boycott of official Republic day function in which MoS Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo is scheduled to hoist the Tricolour at Historic Chowghan ground of Kishtwar. As per the details available with "Early Times", a meeting of representatives of various sections of minority community of Kishtwar was held under the umbrella of Sanatan Dharam Sabha, in which all the associated organizations like BJP, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Rajput Sabha, Brahaman Sabha, Shiv Sena(Thakrey), Rashtravadi Shiv Sena, Traders Association Kishtwar participated and decided to boycott the flag hoisting by MOS Home, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo. While talking to "Early Times", Convener of Sanatan Dharam Sabha Kishtwar Hans Raj Parihar said that all the participants unanimously decided that if MoS Home hoisted the national flag, they will boycott the official function and added that the alternative flag hosting will be held by all the related organizations at some suitable place decided by them.He said that the minister had failed to protect the life and property of common citizens of Kishtwar. He said that it is not acceptable to them that a minister who is accused in Kishtwar communal violence hoist national flag at Kishtwar on the eve of Republic day celebrations. Kishori Lal Shan, Vice President, Traders Association said that even after the lapse of six months, the affected traders of Kishtwar are yet to receive the compensation as was announced by the government and the cases prepared by the administration. He said that several riot victims are undergoing through mental trauma due to a pathetic and callous attitude of administration as well as the government. All the participants made a desperate appeal to administration and government to release the compensation in favour of the victims without any further delay. |
