| R&B Minister invites public wrath as Doda-Kishtwar roads slurp more blood | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 20: With several more precious lives lost to bloody roads of Doda- Kishtwar the previous day, criminal indifference of the government has resurfaced once again.
Since long, people of the area have been crying that torrential rain has damaged all roads in Doda and Bhaderwah including the Batote-Kishtwar national highway but the government hasn't taken cognizance of the situation.
The Roads and Buildings and Transport departments are in deep slumber over the prevailing situation in the area which has seen more loss of life on roads than to militancy. Despite the fact that the R&B Minister hails from the area, he is working overtime to appease Kashmiri leadership rather than improve the roads of his own area.
Sources say that the resentment is brewing amongst the locals against the Minister who they think has done little for four lanning of the Batote- Bhaderwah road which can check the accidents to a great extent.
The condition of the highway has deteriorated dangerously due to untimely rain and snow at several places across the region, but there has been no attempt by the R&B department to avail safe commuting to the people. |
