GDC Bhaderwah, PG Arts win ties

JAMMU, Jan 24: Government Degree College (GDC) Bhaderwah and Post Graduate (PG) Departments of Arts won their respective matches to move into the next round of the ongoing inter-college competitions of University of Jammu, organised by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education on the campus ground, here today.
In the first match of the day, GDC Bhaderwah defeated GDC Samba by 44 runs. Earlier, batting first, GDC Bhaderwah made 137 runs losing all their wickets in 20 overs game. Babar remained top scorer with 41 runs while Usman and Deepak contributed 28 and 18 runs respectively. Rahul added 11 runs. From GDC Samba, Prince and Surjeet shared three and two wickets respectively.
In reply, GDC Samba bowled out for 93 runs in 18.4 overs. Manyal and Amit were top scorers with 22 and 17 runs respectively. Burham emerged as most successful bowler, who took four wickets while Zahid bagged three.
The second match of the day won by PG Arts beating GDC Hiranagar by a margin of 29 runs. Batting first, PG Arts made 118 runs in 18 overs game. Nadeem, Mayank and Vishal contributed 17, 14 and 15 runs respectively. From GDC Hiranagar, Amit Chib and Daleep Kumar bagged three and two wickets respectively. Batting second, GDC Hiranagar could make 89 runs for seven wickets in 18 overs. Amit Chib was top scorer with 18 runs, followed by Munish and Daleep with 13 and 11 runs in their respective accounts. Mayank, Vinay, Pankaj, Rahul and Akram shared apiece each.
