Prez ignores 'desperate' Omar | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 25: The ousted Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah who was the darling of the erstwhile Congress led UPA regime and was introduced by the former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh as the youngest head of an Indian state to US President Barrack Obama during his first visit to India a few years ago this time around has not been invited to the banquet hosted by the President for the visiting US President Barack Obama. Sources told Early Times BJP has finally decided that it can't do any business with the Omar Abdullah headed National Conference as the party failed to deliver on all the fronts during its six year tenure and pushed Jammu and Kashmir into quagmire. They said top BJP leaders were of the opinion that invitation cannot be extended to Omar on various grounds, including his party questioning J&K's accession with India. "The former chief minister behaving like a spoiled brat, after the results of the recent assembly polls were declared, too have annoyed the top leaders in Delhi. Had Omar accepted the defeat gracefully and behaved in a matured manner he too could have earned the invitation for the banquet," said a source. Another reason for President dropping Omar, sources said, was that he could have tried to hog the headlines by raking up some controversy as he is "desperate." |
