Delegation of scholars, students calls on Bali Bhagat | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 25: A deputation of research scholars and students of Jammu University today called on newly elected MLA of Raipur-Domana, Bali Bhagat to apprise him of the problems being faced by the student community in erstwhile Doda district which comprised of Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar districts. Students while interacting with Bali Bhagat, who is general secretary of the state unit of BJP, sought to draw attention of Bhagat towards shambles education sector in erstwhile Doda district. The delegation pointed out that with political considerations number of colleges and higher secondary schools were opened during the last 12 years in the erstwhile Doda district. It was pointed out that colleges were opened but infrastructure was not provided in these colleges. The delegation informed that most of the degree colleges and higher secondary schools were understaffed and none of the degree college has adequate infrastructure and teaching staff. Delegation while seeking intervention of Bali Bhagat to get their problems solved said that students were suffering due to non availability of teaching staff and adequate infrastructure in the colleges. They urged Bali Bhagat to bring this matter to the notice of the higher authorities. The delegation further draws attention of Bali Bhagat towards deplorable conditions of roads in the erstwhile Doda district where road mishaps have become a routine affair. The delegation pointed out that roads in the erstwhile Doda districts have become a death well but authorities have failed to improve conditions of these roads. The delegation maintained that students were the worst victim of the deplorable conditions of roads so there was a need to formulate a comprehensive policy to improve conditions of these roads. |
