Awareness rally on importance of cleanliness held

Kishtwar, Feb 1 : In order to aware the people of Kishtwar about the importance of cleanliness on streets and surroundings, a local NGO Computer Biometric Society of Education and Information Technology today held an awareness rally from New DC Office Complex Kishtwar to Bus Stand Kishtwar raising the slogans "Clean Street makes healthy society, clean surrounding makes healthy home".
The rally was flagged off by Tehsildar Kishtwar in which school children's, social activists and political persons participated.
The participants cover the distance of the nearly 3 kilometers displayed the banners highlighted the importance of cleanliness. The participants stress for use of dustbins and proper disposal of waste material to keep the surrounding environment health.
While talking to media persons, BJP Muslim Morcha District President Kishtwar Syed Ahmed Shah who also took part in the rally said that cleanness is next to God, added that all the religious preaches the importance of cleanliness. He said that the drive was launched itself by the Prime Minister Narindra Modi and said that his party will take the PM's initiative forward. He said that once the winter vacation ends, party in collaboration with various NGO's will launch a massive awareness program on "Swach Bharat" by involving the school children's.
He said that school children's are ambassadors of change in the society, added that their role is important in spreading the massage of "Clean Street makes healthy society, clean surrounding makes healthy home".
He said that Union government has also sanctioned approximately Rs. 8 crore under "Nirmal Bharat Abiyan" for construction of toilets in the District.
Chairman of the society Kuldeep Kumar Shan expresses his gratitude to all the participants for making the program successful. He said that the society will continue to organize similar program in future as well.
Among the prominent who participated in the rally include Syed Ahmed Shah, Saleem Waza, Khushi Mohammad, Pardeep Parihar, Daljeet Palsar, Ravi Kumar, Sameer Ganie, Sarpanch Ajeet Kumar and others.
