| Youth killed, another injured in road mishap | | | Jammu, Feb 1 : A youth was crushed to death by an over speeded tipper while another sustained injuries at Dheyaran area falling under the jurisdiction of Kanachak police station.
The deceased has been identified as Jagdeep Singh son of Joginder Singh while injured has been identified as Sunil Singh son of Pritam Singh both residents of Dheyaran Kanachak.
Police sources said that two motorcycle borne youth were returning home and while reaching Dheyaran bridge, the motorcycle they were riding on collided with a tipper resulting on spot death of the Jagdeep Singh and injuries to Sunil.
Police said that after getting the information they immediately rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) while body of the deceased was shifted to the mortuary of GMC&H.
Probationer SP Surinder Choudhary, SHO Kanachak said due to collision engine oil tank of tipper collapsed and 300 meter radius of the accident spot got covered with the slippery engine oil resulting some bikes skidded off.
He further said that the area was later covered with the soil to stop the skidding of the vehicles. Choudhary said that tipper has been seized by the police while haunt to nab the driver who has been identified as Bittu is on. |
