I have full faith in Modi: Mehbooba | | | Early Times Report
Jammu/New Delhi, Mar 14: PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti Saturday said she had full faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed hope that he live up to "our expectations." Responding to a straight question on faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ability in making the BJP-PDP alliance work till the last end Mehbooba Mufti said, Modi has been elected by crores of people. He has won the mandate of the people of India. So how can I have no faith in the Prime Minister who has "won such kind of a mandate, and commands such kind of moral authority. Mehbooba Mufti said, "Narenda Modi does have the understanding of Kashmir. She said agenda of alliance would not have materialised if Modi did not understand, have the heart, have the largest of the heart to accommodate certain things. I am sure opposition will try and put them in the spot. In past there have been instances where people have tried to subvert the democratic processes, Supreme Court, elections vis a vis Kashmir but I as a Kashmir have faith in his ability. She said Modi has won the peoples mandate. I have no reason to say i don't have faith in him. I want to believe he will be able to rise up to the occasion and deliver what we expect him to deliver vis-a-vis political process, development of Jammu and Kashmir. She said if you want to have peace in the sub continent i think we need to have peace in Jammu and Kashmir Referring to the vision of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Mehbooba said, we want to bridge the gap. If we don't not bridge the gap between Jammu and Kashmir we won't be able to bridge the gap between the state and New Delhi. She said,"We need a truth and reconciliation commission for justice in Kashmir just the way it was done in South Africa." |
