Baramulla, Mar 14 : NABARD conducted the awareness programme on Swachh Bharat Abhyan at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Baramulla. The school staff and students took part in the day long cleanliness drive. According to press release, Muneera Rasool, Principal of the institute was the chief guest on this occasion, stressed upon the students to keep the school campus and nearby locality clean. She also urged upon the students to avoid using the polybags. District Development Manager NABARD, Rouf Zargar informed about the initiative of NABARD under Swach Bharat Bahyan. He said that NABARD, in last year on Oct 2nd on the eve of Mahatma Gandhi's Birthday, had launched the cleanliness drive all across India. He said that the campaign intends to create a spirit among people that they should keep their localities clean along with their houses. He emphasized students to be the agents of change and spread the message of cleanliness all across. Later, Principal, DDM NABARD, staff and students cleaned the campus area with brooms. All the participants pledged for cleanliness having placards in hands and raising slogans of cleanliness. The programmes were done in collaboration with JKPWIRC, a partner NGO with NABARD. |
