Transformer repairing units go on indefinite strike | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 15:There seems to be no end to the troubles of Transformer repairing units of J&K due to nonpayment of pending liabilities which have risen to the tune of cores of rupees. Moreover angered over state government the transformer repairing units owner went on indefinite strike. According to press release, the decision was taken despite many assurances given to unit holders by the PDD authorities that the pending payment would be released immediately, but these have remained promises only. In this behalf the members of the association have met minister of power and principal sectary PDD and briefed them about the difficulties faced by unit holders. Unfortunately these have given them cool shoulders. This may not be out of place to mention here that during crisis time the unit holders restored the damaged transformers which remains the priority at that time, thereby restoring the credibility of PDD. This is noteworthy to mention here the that these unit holders provide jobs to thousands of unemployed youths whose salaries remain unpaid due to non release of pending payments. This inaptitude of PDD has send shock waves amongtransformer repairing unit holders who during recent devastating floods salvaged the power system by working ceaselessly day and night and earned the accolades of PDD authorities. But as of now looking at the negative approach of the PDD authorities the holders across the spectrum have unanimously decided to go on to indefinite strike till pending payments are released. |
